Welcome To Hook and Jab

Hook & Jab Boxing & Fitness Centre in Warrington have been providing facilities and training for boxers since 1998.

The well equipped boxing and fitness gyms have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with professional male and female staff who instil a training ethic in all members which ensures that people who come to Hook & Jab get fit and stay fit.

Private and group boxing classes are available to all.  Private classes are ideal for newcomers to the sport as they provide a firm grounding in technique and form.  For the more experienced boxer private classes will improve your skills and increase your fitness levels.

For those interested in amatuer boxing Hook & Jab have a strong amatuer club, Bridgefoot Police ABC, who are affiliated with the Amatuer Boxing Association of England.  The club meet to train every week and compete succesfully in numerous events each season.

    Beyond the boxers, who are the persons who make special the boxing world? The Noble art is made up by thousands and thousands of very skilled, experienced and passionate people, who help and support the boxers from their never-ending days inside the gym to the ringside during their matches.   • Warrington Boxer loses out to Commonwealth Games star at Elite Championships Open or Close

    McKay now ranked 10th in country.

    Warrington amateur boxer, Mike McKay (14-11), has received a top ten ranking in the Heavyweight division of the sport, after reaching the Quarter Finals of the England Boxing Elite Championships.

    McKay, of Warrington’s Hook and Jab Amateur Boxing Club, lost a closely contested quarter final bout against Manx Boxer, Krystian Borucki (149-108), on a split decision. McKay made a tentative start in first round, but began to gain confidence from the second round onwards. In the third and final round, McKay began to assert his strength over his opponent and came close to stealing victory.

  • Warrington Boxing Coach Leads Great Britain to World Boxing Championships Open or Close

    A local boxing coach is representing Warrington on the international stage, as she takes the Great Britain Amateur Boxing squad to the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Bulgaria.

    Amanda Groarke, who is a Head Coach at local family-run boxing gym ‘Hook and Jab’ – which is based on Palatine Industrial Estate, is attending the prestigious tournament in her capacity as a Coach for the GB Boxing squad.

  • Boxer Billy Wins Merseyside and Cheshire Youth Title Open or Close

    16 year old Warrington boxer, Billy Potter, won the Merseyside and Cheshire Welterweight Youth Title, at a new tournament held at Croxteth Leisure Centre in Liverpool.

    Potter, who boxes for Hook and Jab ABC, which is based at Palantine Industrial Estate in South Warrington, beat Everton Red Triangle’s Reece Jameson to a unanimous points victory. The pair served up an-all action affair to an excited crowd, standing toe-to-toe for three hard-fought three minute rounds. Whilst the action was aggressive, the pair also showed quality technical ability too, with both demonstrating exceptional compact boxing skills.

  • Warrington Boxers Support Local Charity Open or Close

    Warrington-based boxing club, Bridgefoot ABC, held a sold out charity boxing tournament on Friday 29th November, raising money for The Shannon Bradshaw Trust. The event, which took place at Orford Jubilee Hub, was attended by 180 people and raised more than £370 for the charity.

    Bridgefoot ABC is regarded as one of the North West’s premier boxing clubs, having had several of its young boxers represent England internationally and secure prestigious amateur boxing championships. The club is managed by the husband and wife team of former professional boxer, Derek Groarke, and current Great Britain Women’s Amateur Boxing coach, Amanda Groarke, who regularly coaches the likes of Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams.
